The Money Trail: What Your Contributions Do

In 2008, your contributions funded:


- 14 physician scholarships/awards to attend the AANEM Annual Meeting, allowing them to showcase their research and present abstracts to their colleagues.


- 4 Foundation International Fellowship Awards, providing up to $1,000 for physicians in economically disadvantaged countries to attend the 2008 annual meeting.

- A new pilot study grant awarded exploring the “Significance of the Absent Sural Response in the Healthy Elderly,” which will fund $49,500 over a 2-year study period, with results expected in time for the 2010 AANEM Annual Meeting.

In 2009, your contributions funded:


- 18 physician scholarships/awards to attend the AANEM Annual Meeting, allowing them to showcase their research and present abstracts to their colleagues.


- 4 Foundation International Fellowship Awards, providing up to $1,000 for physicians in economically disadvantaged countries to attend the 2009 annual meeting.

The easiest way to give is to contribute online through our secure network to ensure that your data is confidential.

Email:

If you choose to email your intention, please include your telephone number so that we can contact you to collect all the necessary information from you. Cash gifts can be deducted from your income the year they are donated. Stocks and other securities are another option and can result in additional tax savings.

Fax:

If you choose to fax your donation, fill out the contribution form and fax it to 507.288.1225.

In memoriam or in honor:

Any gift can be made in memoriam of or in honor of a special person or event. When making your contribution, please indicate the name of the person you wish to honor, and include this in the memo line of your check. If possible, please provide a mailing address on the contribution form so that we may send a notification of your generous remembrance to the individual you have honored (or the individual's family). The gift amount is not disclosed. Honorary and memoriam contributions may also be made online.

Giving in the future:

Giving to the AANEM Foundation in your will or through a living trust allows you is a benefit to you and the Foundation. Giving to the Foundation could help reduce estate taxes. Through provisions in your will, for example, you can create an endowment to fund a specific AANEM program in perpetuity or create a lectureship in your name. Significant tax advantages can be realized through planned gifts.

In addition, you may name the AANEM Foundation as the beneficiary of your retirement plan. You'll retain the income benefits during your lifetime, and after your death, the AANEM Foundation benefits according to your wishes. Again, this may benefit your estate in the form of income and estate tax reductions.
